I know, I know, I am two days late, but I did not forget this week's "American Patriots" post. Some weeks it is a patriot, and some weeks it is a hero, this week it is three groups groups of sailors who fit into both categories. This week it is the crews of the MV Maersk Alabama, USS Bainbridge and Seal Team Six (Go Red Cell). Unless you have been living under a rock for the last few months, you know the story of these brave men and women. If you have been under that rock, here is the story of how the crew repelled a pirate attack of the coast of Somalia. A special mention goes out to Captain Richard Phillips for putting his own life on the line to secure the safety of his crew. These people really understand how to deal with pirates, which are just terrorists with boats. Congress could really learn a thing or two from these guys.
Historical Fun Fact:
The USS Bainbridge was christened for Commodore William Bainbridge, who fought against the Barbary Pirates in the first American overseas military action, also off the coast of Africa.
