In Memory of Nodar Kumaritashvili

I think the picture above says it all. My condolences to the family, friends and other loved ones of Nodar Kumaritashvili. Nodar was struck down in his prime, but he died doing what he loved. The hearts of my family bleed for you and your loss. Now that the Olympics are over and Nodar has been laid to rest, I have a bone to pick with the IOC. The IOC released a cold and indifferent statement about the accident. How dare you fuzzy-headed, tree-hugging, hateful assholes blame his death completely on pilot error. You should all be ashamed of yourselves. The fact that you modified the track puts the lie to your assertions that the track is completely safe. You must think the world's population is stupid and can not discern a lie. Nodar Kumaritashvili's death is a tragedy, however, that your extreme hubris has been exposed for all the world to see, will hopefully be eye opening. In the future, this will color the perceptions of the world on your every word. Here is a great opinion piece, and it is a shame that the athletes did not unite to bring you to your knees.

D'Oh Canada

It will come as little surprise that hockey is one of my favorite sports. This being the case, I watched the entire Gold Medal matchup between the United States and Canada. Congratulations to the Canadian Mens Hockey Team. It is disappointing that this victory did not go to the American Team, but if it could not be us, than I am glad it was you. It is sad to say, but Canada wanted it more, and played a better game. It is difficult to score when you can not keep the puck out of your own ice. Still and all there is no shame in Silver, and my congratulations go out to all three medaling teams. You have brought glory to your homelands, and it must be especially gratifing to the Canadian team to win on your own turf. We'll get you next time though. Observation: This matchup seemed to me like a NHL Allstar game. Fun Fact: A member of the American team plays for the Vancouver Canucks. How wierd to lose on your home ice in such a way. Fun Fact #2: A member of each team that was in compition will be playing as team mates when the NHL season resumes.

American Patriot/Hero of the Week

Being that yesterday was the birthday of "The Father of our Country," I thought it appropriate that this week's American Patriot/Hero of the Week be George Washington. President Washington's accomplishments are to many to list, but the state run school system being what it is, I thought we could all use a refresher. (NOTE: This is the header entry from Wikipedia. To learn more, click the link inserted above.)

George Washington served as the first President of the United States from 1789 to 1797 and as the commander of the Continental Army in the American Revolutionary War from 1775 to 1783. Because of his significant role in the revolution and in the formation of the United States, he is often referred to as "Father of His Country".

The Continental Congress appointed Washington commander-in-chief of the American revolutionary forces in 1775. The following year, he forced the British out of Boston, lost New York City, and crossed the Delaware River in New Jersey, defeating the surprised enemy units later that year. Because of his strategy, Revolutionary forces captured the two main British combat armies at Saratoga and Yorktown. Negotiating with Congress, the colonial states, and French allies, he held together a tenuous army and a fragile nation amid the threats of disintegration and failure. Following the end of the war in 1783, King George III asked what Washington would do next and was told of rumors that he'd return to his farm; this prompted the king to state, "If he does that, he will be the greatest man in the world." Washington did return to private life and retired to his plantation at Mount Vernon.

He presided over the Philadelphia Convention that drafted the United States Constitution in 1787 because of general dissatisfaction with the Articles of Confederation. Washington became President of the United States in 1789 and established many of the customs and usages of the new government's executive department. He sought to create a nation capable of surviving in a world torn asunder by war between Britain and France. His unilateral Proclamation of Neutrality of 1793 provided a basis for avoiding any involvement in foreign conflicts. He supported plans to build a strong central government by funding the national debt, implementing an effective tax system, and creating a national bank. Washington avoided the temptation of war and a decade of peace with Britain began with the Jay Treaty in 1795; he used his prestige to get it ratified over intense opposition from the Jeffersonians. Although never officially joining the Federalist Party, he supported its programs and was its inspirational leader. Washington's farewell address was a primer on republican virtue and a stern warning against partisanship, sectionalism, and involvement in foreign wars. He was awarded the first Congressional Gold Medal with the Thanks of Congress in 1776.

Washington died in 1799. Henry Lee, delivering the funeral oration, declared Washington "first in war, first in peace, and first in the hearts of his countrymen". Historical scholars consistently rank him as one of the greatest United States presidents.

Some Props to The President

I worry as I write this post about the likelihood of either my head or my exploding. While I am sure this will brighten the day of any liberals that might stop by, my family, and the majority of my readers, would be rather put out. I write this in the hopes that perhaps if enough good conservatives praise the Commander-In-Chief, he might straighten up his act. While I hold out little hope for this eventuality, I still make the attempt in hope of a better future. I know this story is out of date by almost a week, but like I said, I have to give credit where it is due. The President has decided to aid the power industry in building a new nuclear power plant. I am a big proponent of nuclear power, so this is great news. Hopefully The President will fast-track the building of the new plant, and tell the greenie-weenies to take a long walk off of a short pier. Do not get me wrong, nuclear reactors can be terribly dangerous, and as such I am not advocating for a short circuit of the safety regulations, but if the administration could put a moratorium on the inevitable lawsuits that will be filed in an attempt to derail this project. Just as an idea, maybe the government should build the reactor, then any lawsuits that the greenie-weenies come up with could be dealt with using sovereign immunity, then just sell it to whichever compan wants to buy. I also think that The President should consider withdrawing our signature from the portion of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty that bans us from recycling our spent fuel rods. That would deal with the big problem of what to do with most of that pesky waste nuke plants produce.

There, I made all the way to the end and the computer still functions, and my head appears to be in one piece. Remember Mr. President, WE ARE WATCHING.

Latter to The Chosen One

I found this letter while surfing around the net and thought it awesome beyond description. NOTE: It is misattributed, and the correct author is mentioned in the story. Enjoy!

Subject: Teacher Slams Obama

April 17, 2009
The White House

Washington, DC 20500

Mr. Obama:

I have had it with you and your administration, sir. Your conduct on your recent trip overseas has convinced me that you are not an adequate representative of the United States of America collectively or of me personally.

You are so obsessed with appeasing the Europeans and the Muslim world that you have abdicated the responsibilities of the President of the United States of America . You are responsible to the citizens of the United States ... You are not responsible to the peoples of any other country on earth.

I personally resent that you go around the world apologizing for the United States telling Europeans that we are arrogant and do not care about their status in the world. Sir, what do you think the First World War and the Second World War were all about if not the consideration of the peoples of Europe ? Are you brain dead? What do you think the Marshall Plan was all about? Do you not understand or know the history of the 20th century?

Where do you get off telling a Muslim country that the United States does not consider itself a Christian country? Have you not read the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution of the United States ? This country was founded on Judeo-Christian ethics and the principles governing this country, at least until you came along, come directly from this heritage. Do you not understand this?

Your bowing to the king of Saudi Arabia is an affront to all Americans. Our President does not bow down to anyone, let alone the king of Saudi Arabia . You don’t show Great Britain , our best and one of our oldest allies, the respect they deserve yet you bow down to the king of Saudi Arabia . How dare you, sir! How dare you!

You can’t find the time to visit the graves of our greatest generation because you don’t want to offend the Germans but make time to visit a mosque in Turkey . You offended our dead and every veteran when you give the Germans more respect than the people who saved the German people from themselves. What’s the matter with you?

I am convinced that you and the members of your administration have the historical and intellectual depth of a mud puddle and should be ashamed of yourselves, all of you.

You are so self-righteously offended by the big bankers and the American automobile manufacturers yet do nothing about the real thieves in this situation, Mr. Dodd, Mr. Frank, Franklin Raines, Jamie Gorelic, the Fannie Mae bonuses, and the Freddie Mac bonuses. What do you intend to do about them? Anything? I seriously doubt it.

What about the U.S. House members passing out $9.1 million in bonuses to their staff members – on top of the $2.5 million in automatic pay raises that lawmakers gave themselves? I understand the average House aide got a 17% bonus. I took a 5% cut in my pay to save jobs with my employer. You haven’t said anything about that. Who authorized that? I surely didn’t!

Executives at Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac will be receiving $210 million in bonuses over an eighteen-month period, that's $45 million more than the AIG bonuses. In fact, Fannie and Freddie executives have already been awarded $51 million – not a bad take. Who authorized that and why haven’t you expressed your outrage at this group who are largely responsible for the economic mess we have right now.

I resent that you take me and my fellow citizens as brain-dead and not caring about what you idiots do.

We are watching what you are doing and we are getting increasingly fed up with all of you. I also want you to know that I personally find just about everything you do and say to be offensive to every one of my sensibilities.

I promise you that I will work tirelessly to see that you do not get a chance to spend two terms destroying my beautiful country.
[br[ Sincerely,

Every real American

Fight the Power!

Post Notes: I originally wrote this as a response to a comment posted by Debbie in this post by Jo-Joe Politico. I was commenting on Debbie, a great blogger that I have recently found, saying that she would no longer be commenting on blogs that allow the idiots leftists to insult us conservatives. The need to struggle on is an important one, and as such I feel this is a good message.

It is easy to get discouraged. We are facing adversity at every turn. The enemy seems to be everywhere we look. Even I get discouraged now and again. It is easy to fall into the trap, one I believe is created from self-pity, of giving up. That is the easy choice, but it is no solution. The true price of freedom is eternal vigilance and a willingness to lay down your life if need be. Know you are not alone. We struggle everyday in our own lives, and the leftist attempt to cut us from the herd and drag us down individually. Do NOT let them do this. Our strength lies in our willingness and ability to hang together, for if we do not, we will most certainly hang separately. This is the great strength of the left, they know how to organize and work together. We are learning to do this, and combined with our moral sense coupled with our ability to think, rather than just feel, is what will win us back our nation. I quote myself earlier when I told Debbie, "I know you are not running away, but no matter why you go, if you go, they win. Fight back with reasoned argument and show them up as the brainless slugs who are unable think and reason, but only ooze from one sensation or feeling to another, that they are. If we turn our backs on the fight, they WILL win, by default yes, but we will wake up with the jackboot of liberal "it's good for you" tyranny on our necks without any one to blame but ourselves." Support each other. Get together and struggle as a group. Do NOT allow them to divide and conquer. The only concept the left has that was well thought out is solidarity. Learn this one thing from the enemy and keep your chin up, your head down, and you powder dry.

American Patriot/Hero of the Week

Greeting all. My project at work is wrapping up this release soon, so I will be able to post at my usual pace soon. This is a re-post that my comrade-in-arms over at Proof Positive has graciously allowed me to use to help keep up an important topic that I regularly post on. I hope to be doing more of my original writing soon, at least until release two's drop date looms closer. So please help show our appreciation to Proof by clicking the links above and checking out his great site. My thanks to you Proof.

Captain James E. Livingston

Citation:
For conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty while serving as Commanding Officer, Company E, in action against enemy forces. Company E launched a determined assault on the heavily fortified village of Dai Do, which had been seized by the enemy on the preceding evening isolating a marine company from the remainder of the battalion. Skillfully employing screening agents, Capt. Livingston maneuvered his men to assault positions across 500 meters of dangerous open rice paddy while under intense enemy fire. Ignoring hostile rounds impacting near him, he fearlessly led his men in a savage assault against enemy emplacements within the village. While adjusting supporting arms fire, Capt. Livingston moved to the points of heaviest resistance, shouting words of encouragement to his marines, directing their fire, and spurring the dwindling momentum of the attack on repeated occasions. Although twice painfully wounded by grenade fragments, he refused medical treatment and courageously led his men in the destruction of over 100 mutually supporting bunkers, driving the remaining enemy from their positions, and relieving the pressure on the stranded Marine company. As the 2 companies consolidated positions and evacuated casualties, a third company passed through the friendly lines launching an assault on the adjacent village of Dinh To, only to be halted by a furious counterattack of an enemy battalion. Swiftly assessing the situation and disregarding the heavy volume of enemy fire, Capt. Livingston boldly maneuvered the remaining effective men of his company forward, joined forces with the heavily engaged marines, and halted the enemy's counterattack Wounded a third time and unable to walk, he steadfastly remained in the dangerously exposed area, deploying his men to more tenable positions and supervising the evacuation of casualties. Only when assured of the safety of his men did he allow himself to be evacuated. Capt. Livingston's gallant actions uphold the highest traditions of the Marine Corps and the U.S. Naval Service.
Capt. Livingston: We humbly salute you and thank you for your service.

Is America Still Making Men?

This was posted on the Facebook wall of my good friend Glory T. I thought it very poignant and want to share it with all of you.

Is America Still Making Men?
by Dennis Prager

Every society has to answer a few basic questions in order to succeed and even in order to survive. One of them is, "How do we make good men?"

The reason for the importance of this question is simple: Males untutored about how to control their natures will likely do much harm. Conversely, males who are taught to how to control themselves and to channel their drives in positive directions make the world a much better place. The good man is a glory of civilization; the bad man ruins it.

Throughout American history, American society asked, "How do we make men?" (It was understood that "man" meant a good man.) Anyone who thought about the subject knew that boys who are not transformed into men remain boys. And when too many boys do not grow up into men, women suffer and society suffers.

What is a man (as opposed to a boy)? The traditional understanding was that a man is he who takes responsibility for others -- for his family, his community and his country -- and, of course, for himself. A man stood for ideals and values higher than himself. He conducted himself with dignity. And he was strong.

For much of American history, making boys into men was understood to be of supreme importance, and society was usually successful. When I was a boy in the 1950s, without anyone expressly defining it, I knew what a man was supposed to be. And I knew that society, not to mention my parents, expected me to be one. It went without explicitly saying so that I would have to make a living, support myself as soon as possible and support a family thereafter.

When I acted immaturely, I was told to be or act like a man. I wonder how many boys are told to "be a man" today; and if they were, would they have a clue as to what that meant? It would appear that for millions of American boys, this has not been the reality for decades. Many families and society as a whole seem to have forgotten boys need to be made into men.
There are numerous reasons:

The distinction between men and boys has been largely obliterated. The older males that many American boys encounter are essentially older boys, not men. They speak, dress, and act similarly (think of men who "high-five" young boys instead of shaking their hands). And they are almost all called by their first names. Even when a boy (or girl) addresses an adult male as "Mr.," many men will correct the young boy or girl -- "Call me" and then give the young person his first name. This is often true even with regard to teachers, physicians and members of the clergy. When a young person calls an adult by his first name, the status of the two individuals has been essentially equated. Boys need men to respect. It's not impossible to do so when they call men by their first names, but it makes it much harder.

Boys today have fewer adult men in their lives than ever before. Many boys are not raised by any father. More are not raised by a father who lives in the home full time. Nearly every teacher and principal American boys have in elementary and high school is a female. The boy's clergy person and physician may well be women. And few male figures in contemporary film radiate manhood as defined above.

The ideals of masculinity and femininity have been largely rendered extinct. Feminism, arguably the most influential American movement of the 20th century, declared war on the concepts of femininity and masculinity. And for much of the population, it was victorious. Indeed, thanks to the feminist teaching that male and female human beings are essentially the same (note, incidentally, that no one argues that male and female animals are the same, only human beings are), untold numbers of boys have been raised as if they were like girls. They were denied masculine toys such as play guns and toy soldiers, and their male forms of play -- e.g., roughhousing -- were banned.

America has become a rights-centered rather than a responsibility-centered society. Aside from helping to produce a pandemic of narcissism, the rights-centered mindset is the opposite of the obligation/responsibility-centered mindset that makes a boy into a man. It is not good for either sex to be rights-preoccupied; but it is particularly devastating to developing men, as men are supposed to be obligation-directed. The baby boomer generation helped destroy manhood in most of the ways described here. One additional example was its widespread slogan, "Make love, not war." One cannot come up with a more unmanly piece of advice: "Don't fight for your country, screw girls." If the greatest generation had adopted that motto, Hitler and Tojo would have won. A few years ago, the city of Chicago named a street after Hugh Hefner, a man who has played games much of the day and night, lived in pajamas and devoted his life to sex -- quite a model of manhood for American boys.

There are few places where men can bond with other men. One major way men become men is by associating with other good men. The only places left where this normally takes place are sports teams and the military. The same holds true for boys. And much of society is now working on breaking the most significant all-boys institution, the Boy Scouts.

Males no longer have distinctive roles. Men do best when they are relied upon, when needed; and they feel most needed when they do something distinct from women. This exists today in sports and the military. It is symbolic -- significantly so -- that there are no more "men at work" signs on highways. Now "people" are at work. "Men" have disappeared.

Many churches and synagogues have been feminized. This has occurred in at least three important ways: Clergy are increasingly female (and touchy-feely males) -- for the first time in Christian and Jewish history; God is often depicted as androgynous and no longer either demanding or judging (He just loves all the time); and religion has been changed from morally and theologically demanding to a therapeutic model. So religion, too, has become yet another place where boys encounter few men, and few masculine models (even in God, as noted, is no longer masculine).

Instead of the traditional American model of masculinity, which was a rare combination of masculine toughness and stoicism with doing good (e.g., Superman), boys are now taught to be preoccupied with their feelings and with (unearned) self-esteem. They are not even allowed to lose; all boys playing a sport are given trophies, not just winners.

Increasingly, marriage is regarded as optional. The most obvious expression of men assuming responsibility -- marrying a woman and taking care of her and their children -- is no longer a male ideal. Vast numbers of men quite openly admit to having problems with the C-word (commitment) and responsibility of being a family's sole breadwinner.

When boys do not become men, women assume their roles. But they are not happy doing so. There are any number of reasons American women suffer from depression more than ever before and more than men. It is difficult to believe that one of those reasons is not the very emasculation of men that the movement working in their name helped to bring about. And so, a vicious cycle has commenced -- men stop being men; women become man-like; men retreat even further from their manly role; and women get sadder.

Pro-Choice? Choice My Aching Ass!

Super-Bowl has come and gone, and with it the Tebow Pro-Life commercial. First, let us address the idiocies of the leftists. They made a huge fuss over this ad. If they had just kept their stupid mouths shut, this ad would not have gotten anywhere near the publicity that it did. The only thing the Pro-Murder InfanticideChoice crowd could have done to to make this ad more widely known would have been to announce that, because of Tim Tebow's story, Planned Parenthood will no longer perform abortions because they have decided it is murder.

"I am blown away at the celebration of the violence against women in it," she told the Los Angeles Times. "That's what comes across to me even more strongly than the anti-abortion message. I myself am a survivor of domestic violence, and I don't find it charming. I think CBS should be ashamed of itself." - Terry O'Neill (NOW President)

This ad is the embodiment of choice. Mrs. Tebow risked her own life to do what was right for her. Review the ad, that is why I included it, she never says abortion is immoral, wrong., or in any way advocates anything. She merely puts the family's story out there where the people can take from it what they will. The fact that the Pro-"Choice" crowd even squawked at all is proof of their hypocrisy. They want to crush all dissenting opinions/stories. The mere fact that someone dares speak out against their agenda of infanticide shows them to be anti-choice and true leftists. Silly Christian, sit down, shut up and stop rocking the boat or we will throw you over the side.

"Hey Mom! Tried to kill you from the womb and failed. How about a blind side tackle? Violence against Moms." - Amanda Marcotte (Abortion Advocate) on Twitter

So in they come with their attacks. They say she is a liar, as abortion was not legal, and therefore not an option, in that time and place. Again they show their idiocy. In the Philippines abortion was indeed legal if it was medically necessary to save the life of the mother, which the doctors felt it was in this case. Then they said that the ad promoted violence towards women because Tim tackled his mother. This from the same crowd that says that all sex is coerced at best, and is in fact rape. Thanks NOW, your very existence drags the women's rights movement back fifty years. Yet not a peep was heard about this Snickers ad, where not only is an elderly woman tackled, but also portrays women as poor at sports. They support women like The Chosen One brings hope.

"Seriously, if you didn't know the context -- and context is everything in the case -- you would wonder what all the fuss was about. I was surprised by how lightly it touched on the difficult-pregnancy story (although there is the "miracle baby" reference)." - Tom Krattenmaker (Author of Onward, Christian Athletes)

I should not expect anything else from this group. After all Margaret Sanger, the face of the birth-control movement, and founder of Planned Parenthood, was a monster. Margaret Sanger was a eugenicist who advocated for disabled, poverty stricken, racial minorities and others she deemed to be genetically unfit to be banned from reproducing. The only thing I can not understand about the Pro-"Choice" movement, is why they are such advocates of abortion when their founder was initially against abortion, but later flip-flopped. Can they not see the hypocrisy? Sanger said, "[T]hat abortion was the wrong way—no matter how early it was performed it was taking life[.]" She also wrote in Woman and the New Race "I assert that the hundreds of thousands of abortions performed in America each year are a disgrace to civilization." Later her change of heart about the utility of abortion led her to go on record as saying, "The "Abortion Movement" will do very well to rid the country of the blacks." So why did she change her views? First it is murder but later it is apparently acceptable as long as it is applied to the "genetically unfit" and minorities. Again we see that in the leftist, Pro-Murder mind, morality is only an expediant, a new purer race is desirable, and that the minorities they pine away for when the cameras are rolling, are to be gotten rid of. There used to be a label for people like this, it was NAZI. Hitler has similar ideas about dealing with the "genetically unfit."

"The undeniably feeble-minded should, indeed, not only be discouraged but prevented from propagating their kind." - Margaret Sanger

Allow me to educate you, brothers and sisters, on a common tactic in open debate. When you do not have logical, well reasoned arguments to present, the poor debater falls back to personal attacks. I have yet to see one well thought out, logical objection to the Tebow ad. Instead we are presented with a united front of attacks on the Tebow family, Tim as a two time attempted matricide, promoting violence against women and specious, slanderous lies about Mrs. Tebow. No thought is given to an open and free exchange of opinions. No united sisterhood to support a woman who had to make the toughest CHOICE anyone could face. Attack! Attack! Attack! Who cares if we have not a leg to stand upon. To hell with morality, it is an outmoded concept anyway, and has no place in the "Glorious Future" butchers of children envision for our great nation. Opposition MUST be silenced! Dissent MUST be crushed, ruthlessly! Push the agenda at all costs! Let me tell you brothers and sisters, when the weak have no other options, they do not retire from the field to fight another day and another way. No, the weak attack, regardless of the foolishness of doing so. Personally I think they are just peeved that they did not think of this angle first.

Joke of the Week 2.0

I have been having a lot of problems both at home and at work. Things just have not been going my way. So last night I was depressed, so I called Lifeline. I got a freakin' call center in Pakistan. "Oh well," I thought. So I told them I was suicidal. They got all excited and asked if I could drive a truck.

Assholes..................

Joke of the Week

Tip O' the Hat to Doug H. for both of this week's jokes. I hope all you terrorists vegetarians enjoy this one. Happy Monday. Be sure to check out my new nuke cloud in the link below.

Joke of the Week

Here is a great joke that was emailed to me for you to start the week with.

Finally, a definition of globalization that I can understand and to which I now can relate:

Question:
What is the truest definition of Globalization?

Answer:
Princess Diana's death.

Question:
How come?

Answer :
An English princess with an Egyptian boyfriend crashes in a French tunnel, driving a German car with a Dutch engine, driven by a Belgian who was drunk on Scottish whisky, (check the bottle before you change the spelling), followed closely by Italian Paparazzi, on Japanese motorcycles and treated by an American doctor using Brazilian medicines.

This is sent to you by a Canadian, using American, Bill Gates's technology, and you're reading this on your computerthat uses Taiwanese chips, on a Korean monitor, assembled by Bangladeshi workers in a Singapore plant, transported by Indian truck drivers, hijacked by Indonesians, unloaded by Sicilian longshoremen, and trucked to you by Mexican illegal's....

That, my friends, is Globalization!

AWWWWW....too soon?
