Debate on Right Wing Extreme?

I recently received a comment on this post that I wish to address. Mr. J.L. Watts of The Church of Jesus Christ fides quaerens intellectum wrote:

You need help. I bet you didn't say this when Reagan addressed us after the shuttle went down or when 41 did it.

I responded to his comment with a rather long comment of my own, that I will not repost, but invite you to read it. I attempted, and feel I succeed, in a respectful and intelligent retort. I have also invited Mr. Watts to return to explain his comments and join me in debate. Here is the e-mail I sent to Mr. Watts:

J.L. Watts,

Sir you recently posted a comment on my blog. I received your email address from your blog, which I found to be educational. I thank you for reading, if not the rather rude insult. I have chosen to attempt to engage you in discourse at my blog, and as such have written this e-mail to invite you to return and post a response of your own. I feel I was respectful and have no intention of attacking you to boost readership or other insidious motives. I wish merely to address your views and engage in honest debate. I ask that if you choose to not return that you do me the courtesy of emailing back to let me know. I hope this missive finds you in good health, and look forward to hearing from you, and possibly debating.

The Return of Thomas Paine

I like the message that Basso as Paine portrays. Here are both of his videos. Just so you know he is not a right wing kook, he did the first video during the Bush administration. I thought I had the first video in a previous post that I brought over from my MySpace blog, but it was posted on the page itself. Oh well, senility comes early. I wonder if I have enough Quality-Adjusted Life Years left in me to get treatment from The Chosen One. Please watch these videos if you never have before. They are enlightening.

Indoctrinating our Children

On September 8th, The Chosen One will begin the hard-core indoctrination of our children. He will address them directly and ask them to write letters to themselves about how they can help the president jam his communist agenda down the collective American throat. Yes I know that they have changed the post, but only because it caused outrage. It is the same routine as always, he shows his true colors, we the people call him on it, he changes the rhetoric and it is suddenly our fault for misunderstanding what he meant. I am tired of this smarmy, lying bastard. It is bad enough that he is dragging my nation, my friends and family and myself into communist hell, but I will NOT let him at my children. My children will not be a party to his designs on MY country. My eldest will not be viewing his address, nor participating in his Hitler Youth-esque activities. I urge you brothers and sister, call your schools and tell them your child will not participate in their own brainwashing, or in the special activities. If the school will not let you opt out your children, have them skip school that day. Take them to the zoo, to the park, to a museum, anywhere but The Chosen One's re-education centers. I am fortunate that my youngest is not yet school aged, so there is one, The Chosen One can not reach yet. This man is a monster. Many things this person has done have angered me, now I am totally pissed off. This man must be removed from office as soon as possible. He is a menace. I sent a letter to the White House to tell this man and his cronies, "STAY AWAY FROM MY CHILDREN." Here is a screen shot of the letter I sent to him:


If you are tired of this man's lies, cronyism and betrayal of this nation and her people, write to the White House. Write to your congressmen. Tell them we do not want the United Soviet States of America, we do not want CommieCare and we do not want The Chosen One to be our president anymore. Tell them to "Impeach The Chosen One!!!"

American Patriot/Hero of the Week

I blatantly stole this from Publia at Wilmette. I often write about Founding Fathers and soldiers, but I saw this story about an average person, a child no less, and thought it fitting.

Adonis Bell is an 11 year old fifth-grade student at Gompers elementary school in Chicago. His bravery, along with his ability to pay attention and follow directions saved the lives of seven members of his extended family living on South Wentworth Avenue in Chicago last week, when fire engulfed his grandmother's house. "A fireman came to our school," said young Bell, recounting that the fireman told his class, that in case of fire, "Get myself and everybody out. He told us not to grab any stuff. Just get out." When Adonis discovered the fire at 3:30 am last Wednesday, that is precisely what he did, grabbing first his god-sister, Jordan Hobbs, 2, pictured in the photo. After he told her to hang onto the front yard fence, Adonis then checked on the rest of his family, making sure that they exited the building. After assembling his family away from the burning structure, he went to a neighbor's for help. Textbook fire safety and one smart student! While all material things have been lost, Adonis' family is alive and well, and living at the home of a relative. Further information is available at the original article at the Sun-Times.

Since it was a few days since I stole this post and wrote my little bit at the begining, there has been new developments. The Mayor, Deyon Dean, and the town have purchased a new house to honor the heroic deeds of this young man who has been homeless since the fire. Just goes to show that there are some decent people out there.
