RWE's Thoughts on the SOTU Speech

Hopefully we all tuned in to watch the State of the Union Address. I know that I hurried home to do so, what kind of political blogger would I be if I did not? If you missed it, I have included it for your viewing pleasure.

Initial Thoughts:
Here are some initial thoughts on The President's first (technically) State of the Union address itself. Besides being long, it is hard for me to stomach more than a sound bite's worth of air time from the current President, it was a well delivered, prepared (well what did you expect) address to the Congress, and the nation, if somewhat naive. It was good to see that TOTUS is doing well, and helping out "The Big Guy." Honestly I do not blame any President, even this one, for using a teleprompter for this sort of speech, though with this President, it is of course ubiquitous and cliche..

I clocked the speech at approximately sixty-eight minutes, but the YouTube above has it listed as sixty-three minutes ten seconds. Since that video is more accurate than my mere approximation, and being C-Span, it had a time stamp on the screen that says the speech started five minutes later than I thought it did. This is likely far more accurate than my mere estimation. Having said that, I counted that Congress stopped to applaud seventy-three times. While this is more dignified than the "You Lie" debacle, which I am still torn on, and definitely better than the Democrats booing of President Bush, I think it is a bit much. Do we really need an applause stop, on average, every fifty point five seconds? Really? It was fun to watch them all jump up and down in unison, especially the Democrats, like the heat underneath their seats was suddenly turned up to high. Additionally, The President used the term, "Win the Future," the speech's theme, eight times for an average of once every seven minutes fifty-three seconds.

I do have one more gripe. The President was ready to give his speech, and the inconsiderate crowd would not shut-up and stop their applause. He asked them to have a seat, and yet they still applauded. Finally he said thank you like he was very perturbed. I wish that he would have done something similar during the Arizona Memorial. Would it have been so hard to remind the crowd that they were at a memorial to honor the fallen and wounded rather than a pep-rally to feed his own ego?

Other than these stats and gripes, I did not find this speech to be particularly informative on the subject. I mean the point is right in the name, "State of the Union." How hard is that? Despite this being, "A different kind of speech," I would have much preferred a frank report on our strengths and weaknesses, rather than a pep talk. I thought that is what The President's weekly address was for, but silly me. On a side note, did anyone else notice that Dingy Harry looked like a deer in the headlights and that at first The President looked so smug? That look was quickly wiped off of hi face. Now on to the speech.

The President's Speech had, it seems to me, six main themes.
Togetherness:
The President said, "[C]an we work together tomorrow?" and that legislation could only move forward with bipartisan support. Like during the lame duck session and the CommieCare debate Mr. President? Personally I think he was laying the groundwork for the opposition to take the blame along side his Democrats when their socialist pogroms blow up the faces of the American people as they inevitably will, as we have already seen from the ones they force-fed us plebes. I think that we have had all the togetherness and bipartisanship we can handle, especially in light of how The President, The former Speaker and The Senate Majority leaders led us with that method before. Their idea of bipartisanship is to do as we are told and like it. It is hard not to empathize with their frustration at our outrage over their high-handed methods, especially when they are only doing it for our own good. Personally I do not want any compromise with the socialist left. Hells bells, grid-lock means they can not force any more bad legislation on us. In fact the more roadblocks to Congress getting anything done, the better.

Economy and Budget:
These two points I have placed together as one because they are inexorably linked. The President said we were making economic progress? Really...Since When? Unemployment is still officially over nine percent, with the actual number being somewhere north of fifteen percent. It is difficult to believe that the economy is healing when the man on the street is homeless and unemployed.

The President suggested several ideas to fix our economy. For brevity's sake (I know, too late.) I will list them here then comment. Fix the tax code, review business regulations and remove the roadblocks to a sound economy, balance the budget, five year freeze on domestic spending, defense cuts, foreign spending cuts, downsize and consolidate government, tax the rich and a promise to veto any bill containing earmarks.

So let us review. Budget cuts and earmark vetoes: Since when has any President, especially this one, not found a spending bill the did not like? Fix the tax code for citizens and corporations and taxing the rich: They already pay most of the taxes actually paid in this country, and half of our citizens either pay nothing or get money they do not deserve back. Personally I recommend we find a percentage of the national income that will pay for the essential needs of government and tax that on every citizen, no loop-holes, no deductions and no nonsense. That would cut the IRS down in size, always a worthy goal. As for balancing the budget, that will only work if we include a debt payment, kind of like your debt payments as part of that budget. A five year freeze on domestic spending and the down-sizing of government are great ideas, but the government workers unions, which The President is way to beholden too, will never allow that, so there is another empty promise. Defense cuts sound good, but only if they are smart cuts. Cutting our next generation weapon systems, especially in the face of the ChiComm military build-up is probably not the best place to start. Cut foreign spending, bye-bye Israel. The President wants to fix social security, but without entitlement cuts, to shore up other entitlement programs, there just is not enough money, and it was made clear that entitlement cuts are not in the offing. As for reviewing business regulations and removing those that are roadblocks, please start with the EPA, your back door Crap and Tax Bill and the back door Net Neutrality.

With all these cuts, The President wants to, "Invest in America." He says that Russia, and others, are spending far more on infrastructure than we are. Dollars are not progress Mr. President. The others are building their infrastructure, we already have most of ours and simply need to maintain and improve it. A far smaller expense, but you would have us break the bank to keep up with the Jonse's. I do like the idea of the high speed rail, if it can be done economically, but I found it disturbing that he joked about the outrageous security measures taken by his administration by way of the TSA. All and all The President shows us why he can not get us out of the economic morass we find ourselves in, as if government ever could, and that is because he, and the members of his administration, know nothing about the economy. Maybe if they had spent more time working in the economy, as opposed to only learning about it, they might have a better chance, but as it stands, it is doubtful.

Environment/Energy Policy:
Green jobs and green r&d look good on paper, but our government's track record show this to be an exercise in throwing money down the rabbit hole. It would not be so bad if it was only a start-up boost to infant technology, but history shows that the subsidies will go on for green tech long after the technology has matured and proven itself a waste of money, but that is no reason to stop throwing good money after bad. Further he proposes pulling the oil company subsidies. That would be great, but you know who will be the ones making up that shortfall, though I hope we can find a way to stop giving them money without them passing the buck to us the consumers. Additionally The President proposed eighty percent of our energy come from clean sources. This is a great idea, if it pencils out better than the ethanol and wind subsidies. We must get nuclear power going in this country in a big way, I truly believe it is our only hope to getting off of fossil fuels.

Education:
With all of this administrations experience in the world of education, one would suspect they would understand it better, but alas that is a pipe-dream on my part. The President wants college for all, but many jobs are better server by a technical education rather than a sheep skin were all you learn is how to drink, how great and misunderstood Marx was and why all of the world's problems are Americas fault. The only way to fix education in an affordable manner is not to pussy-foot around the Teachers Union, but to tell them that the free ride stops NOW! Either get with the program and we will work together to find an equitable solution, of bugger off and we will hire new teachers more amenable to that equitable solution. I do have to give him kudos for almost sounding conservative on family values and calling for a better class of heroes than sports players.

Health Care:
The President invited Congress to not revisit the fights of the past by repealing CommieCare. While there are a few things in that abortion of a bill that should be retained, it is disingenuous to say you are willing to work with the opposition to fix the problems when you already showed, clearly, that you are not when it first came up. I do love that he realizes that We The People have him far enough over the barrel to finally talk about tort reform. I do not care how we get it, it is badly needed, and CommieCare must go the way of the Dodo.

Wars/National Security:
The President is still pushing for a path to citizenship when he said we had to bring the illegal aliens out of the shadows. He said we can not afford to rid ourselves of the best and brightest of this group. Rather I would ask how can we afford to not expel a known criminal class. This is not to say that they are drug dealers or something of the like, but just by being here they are criminals, and they are stealing the sweet air of freedom from American Citizens and other legal visitors to our shores. There was also a surprising nod to reality when he actually said the words, "Al Qaeda" and "terrorist." I almost wet myself in surprise, but it was quickly dispelled when he later referred to both groups as "extremists" beyond the one nod. I was also expecting a mention of time-line for withdrawal in the Afghan war, and i was not disappointed. Lastly in this topic the President mentioned the importance of missile defense, which I found odd seeing as how he has done everything in his power to gut the concept. All of this proved, to me at least, that he has as much knowledge about defense as he does in economics, so that should make one ponder hard come election time.

Misc.:
A passing nod was given to Don't Ask, Don't Tell with this comment, "No American will be forbidden from serving the nation they love because of who they love." I will reserve comment on this topic for a later post as I have strong opinions about DADT that deserve a post all of heir own. I did like the salmon joke, but was disturbed, highly, by his suggestion that congress disclose every meeting with lobby members. That to me is like getting a fox to guard the hen house considering the Secret Service would no turn over his visitor logs.

Closing thoughts:
This speech was a lot of bad, sprinkled with a little good, and much rhetoric and promises that I have no confidence The President will stand behind given his track record. To sum it up, we have a very photogenic Amateur-In-Chief in the White House, but as my daddy used to say, "Boy he sure talks purdy don he?"

More Reasons to Repeal CommireCare

Tip O' the Hat to my Dad for forwarding this on to me.

Via The Douglass Report

Employers could earn billions by ditching insurance

If you're not fed up with the ObamaCare lies yet, wait until you hear this next one -- because it's a doozy, even by crooked Washington standards.

The president promised that his plan won't change a thing for people who already get health insurance through an employer... but it looks like someone forgot to tell the employers that, because corporate America is already planning to cut you loose.

The new law gives most employers a choice: Fund health insurance for your workers, or pay a fine. Sounds great for the workers -- until you run the numbers.

Don't bother getting out your calculator, corporate America has already beaten you to the punch. It took them all of 12 seconds to figure out that it would be cheaper to kill their insurance plans and pay the fines.

Just look at AT&T. They might provide lousy phone service, but they're pretty good with math -- they've calculated that ditching health insurance for employees would cost them $600 million in ObamaCare fines, according to the Wall Street Journal.

But since they paid $2.4 billion in health care costs last year, that's the quickest and easiest $1.8 billion they'll ever make.

Thank you, Mr. President. Here's a free iPhone.

Caterpillar, John Deere and Verizon are all crunching their own numbers, according to the Journal... and I'll bet your employer is as well.

Remember, once they drop your insurance you will be required by law to buy your own -- and don't think for a moment that it'll be cheaper or better. Some of my middle-class friends will have to pay $1,000 a month or more for their "free" ObamaCare.

Meanwhile, the Congressional Budget Office said a few months ago that discretionary spending for the first decade of ObamaCare would be $55 billion. Now, they're saying it'll be $110 billion.

In a few more months, who knows -- maybe it'll be a zillion dollars. Whatever it is, you know who'll be stuck with that bill.

YOU.

Dr. Suess Weighs in on The Chosen One

I do not like this Uncle Sam, I do not like his health care scam.

I do not like this 'YES WE CAN'.

I do not like this spending spree,

I'm smart, I know that nothing's free,

I do not like your smug replies, when I complain about your lies.

I do not like this kind of hope.

I do not like it. nope, nope, nope!

GOD BLESS AMERICA AND DEATH TO HER ENEMIES!

Letter to Senator Jim DeMint

Today I received this letter from Senator Jim DeMint:

Dear Friend:

I want to personally thank you for signing the "Repeal ObamaCare Pledge" at repealitpledge.com and give you a quick update.

First, the bad news.

At 11:56 a.m. this morning, President Obama signed the health care legislation into law, turning one-sixth of our economy over to the federal government.
Congressional Democrats cheered as they watched the President sign this full-blown attack on our freedoms. It was a painful sight to see.

Now, the good news.

Minutes after the health care takeover was signed into law, I introduced a one-page bill to repeal it. While this Congress won't pass the "repeal it" legislation, it defines our shared goal and will help us distinguish between those politicians who get it and those who don't. Once we replace the Democrats who voted for ObamaCare, we will repeal the bill and start over with commonsense, free-market solutions.

I'm also proud to report that over 50,000 Americans have signed the "Repeal ObamaCare Pledge" since late Sunday night. This is a remarkable achievement in such a short time. But it's just the beginning. We plan to reach 100,000 pledges by the end of the day and keep building from there.

Please help us reach our goal by telling your friends and family to sign the pledge at repealitpledge.com. We need to get more people to do exactly what you've done and pledge to only support candidates who vow to repeal ObamaCare.

Once we reach a critical mass, we will begin working together to defeat the ObamaCare Democrats one at a time.

Thank you again for being willing to do your part to defend our liberty. Together, we will take our country back.

Sincerely,
Jim DeMint
United States Senator
Chairman, Senate Conservatives Fund

P.S. If you would like help elect strong conservatives to the Senate this year who will fight to repeal ObamaCare, please support the Senate Conservatives Fund.

Here is the response I sent to the good Senator:

Senator,

I thank you for your efforts to return freedom back to the American people. While I appreciate the bill you have/will introduce to repeal this monstrosity, it is at best a symbolic gesture. While I do not discount the need and usefulness of gestures such as this, which I will help support in any way possible, I believe that the time for gestures has, or will soon, pass. The administration, with the help of RINO traitor Senator Snowe, and Congressional Democrats have already revealed the next step in their plan to irrevocably deliver our nation into the hands of Karl Marx with their "bi-partisan" Immigration "reform" plan. Before the "Enemy Within" can cut Liberty's throat, we must start taking them apart. When a RINO rears it's head in the party, we must denounce and expel them. If we can not get, and keep, our own house in order how will we get the house of the nation in to any form of a sensible order? Next we must take apart the opposition. We MUST use any and all mean possible, short of violence, to denounce and expose the Democrats who hate America, The Constitution and all we as a nation stand for. We must begin impeachment proceedings against The Speaker, The Senate Majority Leader and The President. I put it to you this way sir, the time for soft words is past, we must now use the big stick. You have revealed yourself to be a true conservative and a leader, and have my respect, help and support. The people cry out for someone to lead us out of the dark valley of socialism. You sir, could be that leader, but no longer will WE THE PEOPLE sit idly by while the ruling class of the DNC deliver us unto evil and our own leaders talk and talk, and then when that inevitably fails say they did "all they could." The time to fight back has come, and I pray that the fight will not take the form of violence, but the American people will die on their feet before we beg on our knees. Lead us sir, but not with empty gesture. I look forward to your response.

Sincerely,
Right Wing Extreme

Any thoughts on this?

Is It Time to Take Up Arms?

But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security.
-Thomas Jefferson
United States Declaration of Independence

Sunday, as we all know, the House of Representatives passed the very controversial Health Care "Reform" bill. This is the first law in American history to require every American purchase a product, regardless of need or want, but merely to exist in this nation. Due to the opposition of around fifty eight percent of the American population to this bill, there is a pot full of seething anger and resentment. Add to this the dirty tricks that the Speaker of the House was prepared to implement to force this bill through, the dirty trick that Were used, the possible...., well let us call it bribery for lack of a better term, and the arm twisting to the point of some members of congress needing health insurance for various fractures and serious shoulder joint dislocations, and you have a very hot fire under an already unstable pot. All of this seems to me to be a recipe for disaster, and any moment the pot could boil over.

There are four ways to affect a change in government. First we have the coup d'état, typically led by the military. I consider this to be the least likely scenario. We as a nation have too much control over our armed forces, and this usually happens, as the definition linked above states, in unstable countries with little experience in democratic forms of government. A particularly horrible thought about this scenario, the military typically makes for rather poor leaders of nations, and often end up as some of the most tyrannical and repressive governments ever seen on Earth. Secondly we have the little brother of the coup d'état, the take over from within. This was common in the Roman and Egyptian Empires. There it was a time honored tradition to off your ruler and take their place by way of you own royal blood until such time as your successor offed you and so on and so forth. I also find this to be an unlikely scenario, though there are some who claim that Johnson took out Kennedy, but no matter. This I do not consider a change in government due to the fact that the only change is at the top, and the new administration often bears more than a strong resemblance to the last.

Our third way of effecting a change in government, is voting the rascals out of office. This I view as the most likely method of a turn over in our government. The unfortunate result of this method, is you find that you have unwittingly installed a different bunch rascals that are no better than the bums you just tossed. The fourth, and final, method is an armed uprising by the populace. Most Americans recoil in horror when this is presented as an option. They say, "We are not South America." Indeed we are not, but consider our history, an armed uprising is exactly what led to the formation of our great nation. We took our freedom from King George at the point of a musket.

Having given that mini history lesson, I feel that I can safely that America does indeed have a history of armed insurrection. So having established that armed rebellion by the people is in fact in the Nature of the American citizen, I ask you, is it time now to take up arms and revolt? Leave aside the chances of success and the bloodshed that a modern civil war would entail. I ask a reasonable question that I have not seen anywhere except for the ramblings of the loonies and the white supremacists. My opinion is that most are afraid to simply ask the question, is it time? My personal opinion is that a civil war would leave us battered and broken as a nation. This opinion I base on the results of the last Civil War we fought, and the fact that unlike last time, there would not be two distinct region duking it out such as neighboring nations do, but the fact that the likely combatants are all mixed in together throughout the nation, by and large.

I know that many would consider this sedition, but after careful study of the requisite statuates, I feel secure in my own right to ask this question. My goal with this post is to see how others feel, not to start a rebellion of my own, but to gauge the sentiment of others out there in the blogger community. While I generally dislike anonymous comments, this time I know that many will be due to a, well founded I think, sense of paranoia of our own government. With that, I declare the forum open, and leave you with this bit of video from Johnny Tremain.

In a Funk

I know that today is usually the day I post American Patriot/Hero of the Week, but I have to admit, I am not feeling it today. I have probably been listening to too much talk radio, and reading too much news about freaking CommieCare, and I think it is really starting to get me down. I see the road we are headed down and the probable out come, and I feel sick about the whole mess. I know we have to fight tyranny and socialism, but I think I am going to take a day off and let others carry the fight for a day. After all, I have been railing against CommieCare since before the election, and I am just weary of fighting this battle, and worrying about what a bunch of ass-hats are doing to my country. I WILL be doing Patriots/Heroes this week, but not until Thursday. Until Then readers, fight the good fight, call or write your congressmen and keep your powder dry.

Gratuitous Gloating

I have not been feeling well of late, so when I returned home from work, I took a little nap. The first thing I did when I woke up, was log in to the news. I searched frantically for news of the Massachusetts election results, and saw the great news. First, Congratulations Senator Brown, do us proud and never forget that loyalty is rewarded, and dishonesty will be severely punished. To all my conservative readers, we won a great victory right in the belly of the beast. To all you libs out there, let me offer you this consolatory sound bite.

I feel duty bound to caution you all against complacency. While this is a tremendous victory within the walls of a liberal stronghold, the war against freedom still rages, and the enemies of liberty many and varied. Hopefully this will sound the death-knell of CommieCare, and send a clear message to Washington. Having won a decisive victory, we must keep the pressure on Congress to ensure a greater victory, and to reclaim our birth-right of freedom. I have more to say on this subject, but I will save it for later in the week.

Joke of the Week 3.0

Tip o' the hat to Doug H. for this weeks bonus joke.

Liberals vs Conservatives

If a conservative doesn't like guns, he doesn`t buy one. If a liberal doesn't like guns, he wants all guns outlawed.

If a conservative is a vegetarian, he doesn't eat meat. If a liberal is a vegetarian, he wants all meat products banned for everyone.

If a conservative sees a foreign threat, he thinks about how to defeat his enemy. A liberal wonders how to surrender gracefully and still look good.

If a conservative is homosexual, he quietly leads his life. If a liberal is homosexual, he demands legislated respect.

If a black man or Hispanic are conservative, they see themselves as independently successful. Their liberal counterparts see themselves as victims in need of government protection.

If a conservative is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his situation. A liberal wonders who is going to take care of him.

If a conservative doesn't like a talk show host, he switches channels. Liberals demand that those they don't like be shut down.

If a conservative is a non-believer, he doesn't go to church. A liberal non-believer wants any mention of God and religion silenced. (Unless it's a foreign religion, of course!)

If a conservative decides he needs health care, he goes about shopping for it, or may choose a job that provides it. A liberal demands that the rest of us pay for his.

If a conservative slips and falls in a store, he gets up, laughs and is embarrassed. If a liberal slips and falls, he grabs his neck, moans like he's in labor and then sues.

If a conservative reads this, he'll forward it so his friends can have a good laugh. A liberal will demand I delete it because he's "offended".

Thoughts on CommieCare

Piglosi, Dingy Harry and The Chosen One have really started to turn up the heat on CommieCare this week. I have to admit that I am damned tired of the whole CommieCare fight, but this fight is to important to give in to battle fatigue now. This den of thieves is trying to pull a fast one on all of us. They say that they are doing this for the betterment of the nation. THEY LIE! It is about suborning honest Americans and bringing them, and a large portion of the nation economy, under government control. The want to force us face first into the government Justify Fulltrough. The leftists have learned that the more people who depend on the government for an essential service, the more leverage they will have as the party that is always willing to dole out the hand-outs. It all comes down to control. Like the tax code, they will use this as another political tool to play politics with.

I don't expect much from the leftist Kool-Aid drinking proles, of course these drones want the government to do for them, and keep those in power that promise them a bigger hand-out. Look at Social Security, welfare, Medicare and Medicaid. The recipients of government charity always vote for the group that promises a bigger slice of the pie. Robert Heinlein said it best, "What is supposed to happen in a democracy is that each sovereign citizen will always vote in the public interest for the safety and welfare of all. But what does happen is that he votes his own self-interest as he sees it… which for the majority translates as "Bread and Circuses." "Bread and Circuses" is the cancer of democracy, the fatal disease for which there is no cure. Democracy often works beautifully at first. But once a state extends the franchise to every warm body, be he producer or parasite, that day marks the beginning of the end of the state. For when the plebs discover that they can vote themselves bread and circuses without limit and that the productive members of the body politic cannot stop them, they will do so, until the state bleeds to death, or in its weakened condition the state succumbs to an invader—the barbarians enter Rome.

Brothers and sisters, it is worse than even Heinlein predicted. The barbarians are not beating on the gates. No, they have already infiltrated the shining city on the hill, and are bringing us down from the inside. They are suborning our culture and destroying our way of life. They hate America, and feel that the prosperity we have earned is somehow stolen, or was taken at the expense of others, and that it just is not fair. The enemies of freedom have penetrated our system all the way to the top. The have used the processes of this great republic to gather up the reins of power. Having achieved that goal they are now bent on dismantling our system. The first step was to get as many on the dole as possible, thus making the dependent. Next they infiltrated the main stream media and turned them to their will. Then the started to take apart our financial institutions and private industries, such as the auto companies, and placing them under government control. Now they are attempting to tax the air we breath and force us into government run health care.

As I have said before, do you really want the idiots who let Wall Street fall, White Water and any number of other shenanigans happen in charge of your health? The idea frightens me. Look at Canada and how well their system has served them. Look to England's National Health System. I do not want English Teeth, do you? They say that he bill will not have death panels, by whatever name, or allow illegals to continue to soak up our hard earned tax dollars. I say again, THEY LIE! The violate our Constitution and smile while they say it is for our own good.

We will not have to worry about the barbarians battering down the gates, our so called leaders are inviting them in. We must continue to fight, to keep the pressure on these bastards. Write your congress members. Brothers and sisters, pass this message on. Send it in e-mails, post links and send it to your friends. Re-post this on your blogs, and forward it to the talk show hosts, you have my permission. The wider distribution on this message, the better for a free America. We beat back amnesty by stirring the masses to respond to congress and their disregard for our laws in one voice, "NO!" We won that fight, and we can win this fight too. Below is a picture of people waiting for the swine flu shots, another failed government health care program. If you want to see the future of CommieCare, there it is brothers and sisters.

Joke of the Week 2.0

I received this in an e-mail and it gave me a good laugh. It would be even funnier if it wer not so true, hope you enjoy:

The Ten Commandments According to The Chosen One:

I. Thou shalt have no God in America, except for me. For we are no longer a Christian nation and, after all, I am the chosen One. (And like God, I do not have a birth certificate.)
II. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, unless it is my face carved on Mt. Rushmore.
III. Thou shalt not utter my middle name in vain (or in public). Only I can say Barack Hussein Obama. IV. Remember tax day, April 15th, to keep it holy.
V. Honor thy father and thy mother until they are too old and sick to care for. They will cost our public-funded health-care system too much money.
VI. Thou shalt not kill, unless you have an unwanted, unborn baby. For it would be an abomination to punish your daughter with a baby.
VII. Thou shalt not commit adultery if you are conservative or a Republican. Liberals and Democrats are hereby forgiven for all of their infidelity and immorality, but the careers of conservatives will be forever destroyed.
VIII. Thou shalt not steal, until you've been elected to public office. Only then is it acceptable to take money from hard-working, successful citizens and give it to those who do not work, illegal immigrants, or those who do not have the motivation to better their own lives.
IX. Thou shalt not discriminate against thy neighbor unless they are conservative, Caucasian, or Christian.
X. Thou shalt not covet because it is simply unnecessary. I will place such a heavy tax burden on those that have achieved the American Dream that, by the end of my term as President, nobody will have any wealth or material goods left for you to covet.

Unite? I Don't Think So!‏

I don't know where this originated, but I like it! Tip o' the Hat, again, to my dad who sent this to me.

I have noted that many elected officials, both Democrats and Republicans, have called upon America to unite behind Obama. Well, I want to make it clear to all who will listen: I AM NOT uniting behind Obama!

I will respect the office which he holds, and I will acknowledge his abilities as an orator and wordsmith, BUT that is it!!!

I have begun today to see what I can do to make sure that He is a one-term President!

Why am I doing this?

It is because I do not share Obama's vision or value system for America: I do not share his abortion beliefs; I do not share his radical socialist concept of re-distributing wealth and government control of banks, the auto industry, the health care industry; I do not share his belief that America needs 30+ "czars" to rule over sections of our economy; I do not share his view that America is arrogant; I do not share his view that America is not a Christian nation.

I do not share his view that the military should be reduced by 25%; I do not share his view of amnesty and giving more to illegals than to American citizens who need help; I do not share his views on homosexuality and his definition of marriage; I do not share his views that radical Islam is our friend and Israel is our enemy; I do not share his spiritual beliefs (at least the ones he has made public); I do not share his beliefs on how to re-work the health care system in America;

I do not share his strategic views of the Middle East, and certainly do not share his plan to sit down with terrorist regimes such as Iran.

Bottom line.... my America is vastly different from Obama's, and I have a higher obligation to my Country and my God to do what is right!

For eight (8) years, the liberals in our society, led by numerous entertainers who would have no platform and no real credibility but for their celebrity status, have attacked President Bush, his family, and his spiritual beliefs!

They have not moved toward the center in their beliefs and their philosophies, and they never came together nor compromised their personal beliefs for the betterment of our country! They have portrayed my America as a land where everything is tolerated except being intolerant!

They have been a vocal and irreverent minority for years; they have mocked and attacked the very core values so important to the founding and growth of our country!

They have made every effort to remove the name of God or Jesus Christ from our society! They have challenged capital punishment, the right to bear arms, and the most basic principles of our criminal code; they have attacked one of the most fundamental of all freedoms, the right of free speech!

Unite behind Obama? Never!

I am sure many of you who read this think that I am going overboard, but I refuse to retreat one more inch in favor of those whom I believe are the embodiment of evil!

PRESIDENT BUSH made many mistakes during his presidency, and I am not sure how history will judge him. However, I believe that he weighed his decisions in light of the long established Judeo-Christian principles of our Founding Fathers!!!

Majority rules in America , and I will honor the concept; however, I will fight with all of my power to be a voice in opposition to Obama and "his goals for America .."

I am going to be a thorn in the side of those who, if left unchecked, will destroy our country!! Any more compromise is more defeat!

I pray that the results of this election will wake up many who have sat on the sidelines and allowed the Socialist anti-God crowd to slowly change so much of what has been good in America!

American Patriot/Hero of the Week

I got this from The Conservative Resistance. I wanted to comment on Joe Wilson and his stand against The Chosen One, but I was not sure where to put it. Then it struck me, this was the action of a patriot. This man plainly said what so many of us are feeling, and is now staring down criticism not only from the drive-bys, but also cowards on his own side of the aisle. Bravo Joe. Go for broke, and remember, we are behind you. Help support Rep. Joe Wilson. You will not be sorry.

"You Lie!"

My new hero. Seems I have a lot of those lately, probably because more and more people are beginning to stand up in the face of a quickly-rising totalitarian regime. Of course, those on the left will disagree with a sanctimonious snicker; after all, they couldn't possibly be indirectly supporting National Socialism, now could they? They're far too enlightened for that. Lest we forget this passage from one of my recent posts:

All of this caused American progressives to do three things: First of all, they denied ever supporting Mussolini and fascism in the first place. Secondly, they shifted their hero-worship to fascism's closest cousin: revolutionary communism. And, thirdly, they created the myth that fascism and communism were not only ideologically distinct but that they were polar opposites. Fascism was the far right, and communism was the far left. Obviously liberals couldn't have ever supported fascism: that was the wrong side of the political spectrum!

The notion that fascism and communism are ideologically opposed has never made any sense. The prototypical fascists--the Nazis--were the national socialist party of Germany.

Remember - he who snickers last, snickers best.

CITIZEN WELLS, who has been providing in his blog even more in-depth discussions of the serious nature of this issue, chimes in with even more in his post from today:

The Citizen Wells blog began warning of the striking similarities between the Obama camp and Nazi Germany early in 2008. Why did I do so early on? I am a student of history, I have read quite a bit about Nazi Germany and I was paying attention and investigating Obama, the spectre of the Obama camp reminding me of pre World War II Nazi Germany.

As time went by, I became increasingly concerned that history was indeed repeating itself. As I observed the election cycle play out and the escalating attacks on anyone questioning Obama and numerous death threats made on many, including myself, I was convinced that we had another Nazi Germany in the Obama Camp. I have written many articles on this subject since the first.

Just two days ago, the Citizen Wells blog wrote:

“Protocol, following societal norms, or marching lock step, prevented Adolf Hitler and the Japanese military from being stopped leading up to World War II. Just think, if there had been more people like SC representative Joe Wilson that had stood up and called Adolf Hitler a liar soon enough. One person for the good or evil can make a difference.”

Nazi Germany could have used some Joe Wilsons.

Today we have another clear manifestation of Nazi principles and practices in the attacks on SC Representative Joe Wilson for speaking the truth. From Fox News, September 11, 2009.

Democrats Give Wilson Ultimatum: Apology or Punishment
House Democratic leaders announced Friday they will discipline Republican Rep. Joe Wilson next week if he does not apologize on the floor of the House for yelling “You lie” at President Obama during Wednesday’s joint address to Congress.

Democrats say they do not know what the sanction will be, but it is doubtful it will be censure. Censure in the House is a type of reprimand. Another alternative is an official rebuke.

At the time of Wilson’s outburst, the president was announcing that his health care reform bill does not cover illegal immigrants, a position that Wilson apparently didn’t believe.

The episode shocked lawmakers of both parties. Obama and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi stared daggers in Wilson’s direction after the shout.

The discipline will not come until Tuesday at the earliest. The full House votes on the resolution. If the House approves the resolution, Wilson will then stand in the well of the House as his punishment is meted out by Pelosi, presiding from the dais.

This decision is a reversal by the speaker, who told FOX News after the speech she saw no need for discipline. At her weekly news conference Thursday, Pelosi reiterated that stance and said she wanted to move forward with health care.

But Democrats changed course Thursday afternoon after a leadership meeting in Pelosi’s office.”

Well, anyway, let me say this about Joe Wilson's outburst: he speaks for me, and protocol be damned. What is being 'polite' going to get us? I'll tell you what it'll get us....further destruction of the country. It's time to think outside the box of the Constitution, people, because if we don't, there won't be much of a Constitution left to defend.

Even Leonidas realized that truth in his particular situation, a situation that indirectly led to the development of Western Civilization. Ah, Western Civilization - that's just so...so..'yesterday', isn't it? Time for some 'change'. Oh, and some 'hope', too....can't forget that.

Rep. Wilson's outburst was more than his pointing out the obvious about the healthcare bill in specific and the Messiah more generally; that was the voice of common-sense Americans trying to take back their country after four f***ing decades of being told that they have to apologize for being a citizen of an organized country, of a successful country, for being white, male, Catholic, intelligent, successful, and anything else that runs contrary to worshipping at the altar of political correctness.

PROTOCOL BE DAMNED.

Oh, and by the way - something that I pointed out in my book - any idea where the term 'political correctness' came from? You got it - 1920's Russia, a time when the people of that country were being forced to undergo a ruthless social transformation at the hands of the Bolsheviks. How did that work out for them, by the way?

Yes, Rep. Wilson speaks for me. I have no intention of living under the thumb of the National Socialist regime.

Oh, and just for curiosity's sake: was Harry Reid forced to apologize when he called President Bush a 'loser' and a 'liar'? Were the Democrats as a group admonished in any way when they literally 'booed' President Bush during one of his speeches to congress? Was Nancy Pelosi called on the carpet for her claim that the CIA 'lied' to her?

Again, just curious.

9/11 was our day to mourn; 9/12 is our day to bring some pain.

“The organization of our press has truly been a success. Our law concerning the press is such that divergencies of opinion between members of the government are no longer an occasion for public exhibitions, which are not the newspapers’ business. We’ve eliminated that conception of political freedom which holds that everybody has the right to say whatever comes into his head.”…. Adolf Hitler

Geez, that sounds kinda like our media, doesn't it?

The drive-by media, which at this point is completely complicit in the situation in which we find ourselves, will no doubt do one of two things (or both) in response to today's history: they'll most likely do their damndest to ignore it with their hands over their ears and pretend it's not happening, or, when the crescendo reaches the point when it clearly no longer can be ignored, they'll do their best to ridicule, demean, and make fun of (just like spoiled kids, which is something else that I've been desperately trying to point out) honest, everyday people.

Yes, those members of the MSM are just really nice people. Yessir.

The news is dead. It went to the internet.

I honestly hope that nothing bad happens today, but if something of a civil-unrest nature does break out, I can assure you it will be from the tantrum-throwers on the left, because, just like little kids, they just want the adults to 'leave them alone' and to 'shut up'. After all, we're ruining all the fun. I hope everyone understands the tinderbox quality of what is going in in Washington, as well as to be prepared for some potential real badness in the immediate future.

Will the message resonate with our - um - 'elected' officials? Doubtful. They're so arrogant, out-of-touch, and believe so seriously in their own elitist superiority that they'll never be able to cross the mental divide in order to even begin to identify with the feelings of middle America.

Here's to hoping the real 'change' begins today.

Response to Joel

In his first comment Joel wrote (see comments of this post):
You need help. I bet you didn't say this when Reagan addressed us after the shuttle went down or when 41 did it.

Fa[s]cist
I responded to his comment with a rather long comment of my own, that I will not repost in its entirety, but invite you to read it. (it can be found by following the link above)
Mostly I say why I do not believe I am a fascist, and why, specifically, I object to The Chosen One's designs on our children. I also defended Joel's typo. There but or the grace of spell checker go I. Joel then responded:
Oh, yes, 'The Black Guy wants to brainwash our white children.

Let me add to Fascist the word racist

Oh, and I am subscribing to this post.

And please, call me Joel.
Joel, I ask again, on what grounds am I a fascist? I am unable to refute or confirm this without knowing the basis of your argument. You may have decided to simply throw out a label so you could enjoy me attempting to defend my views, but I chose to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you just have not gotten around to explaining the foundation of this assertion. I know who and what I am, and feel I see myself clearly. I feel no need to defend myself or my views from a so far groundless accusation. If you can justify the accusation, then I will defend my positions, views and opinions, else I suggest you let it drop.

As for a racist, well the only one who has brought up race or skin color, is you. I will offer evidence later, but for now let me say, I do not care if it is a black man corrupting our children. I do not want anyone, male, female, black, white or otherwise influencing our children. I feel it is a parents job to raise their children and instill moral sense into them. When those children are older, it is up to them to discern the moral and political compass for themselves, but until then a parent must stand guardian over their lives. I honestly take it to heart that a person should be judged by the content of their characters and not the color of their skin. I also posit that when I see The Chosen One, I do not see black, all I see is Commie Red. I am not a racist, at worst, I am a politicist in that I dislike some people based on their politics. I really dislike liberals, and loath socialists and communists. That is not to say that I dislike or hate the person. I have a few liberal friends, but find most socialists and communists to be distasteful as people, and as such, choose to associate with them as little as possible.

As no man can prove a negative, I offer the following evidence that I am not a racist. I have never in all of my writings asserted that minorities were less than equal to white people. I also have no problems with homosexuals, as long as they keep their hands off of me, nor the religion of any other. I find some religions weird, and a few even disturbing, but that does not, by and large, effect how I interact with them. I have said before, that I come from a very diverse family. My oldest sister married two different black guys and has two mulatto sons. I have not associated with this sister in nine years, not because she married black men, but because of some inter-family strife she caused that has little to nothing to do with her husbands, and none to do with their color. I have not been able to talk with her youngest due to her call blocking my family because of that inter-family strife. My middle sister married and honest-to-god hillbilly, coal miner's son from Buckhannon, West Virginia. The youngest sister married an Arab Muslim from the Kingdom of Morocco. They also have two kids who are awesome. My brother married an Okkie, I have since found out that she is from Massachusetts, and has two beautiful daughters (but not as cute as mine j/k). I married a damned yippie from the great Northwest who is slowly being deprogrammed from the brain-washing she received at WWU in Bellingham, WA (a sanctuary city for both illegal aliens and AWOL soldiers). I am Scots/Irish, English with a little German and Cherokee and (unfortunately) maybe some French (damn surrender monkeys). I was raised Catholic, but have Mormon family on my mom's side. I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas, can speak Spanish and some French and Japanese. I can also curse a bit in German (a great language to swear in). One of my family's friends, for many years, is a flaming homosexual, and I was good friends with a lesbian couple before their break up destroyed all of our friendships.

Granted my eldest child does not play with many black children, but being that their are all of around forty in the town I live in, that is not to surprising. She does however play with many kids of native descent, and a mixed bag of other minorities. She is sensitive to racial injustice, but does not worry or fret about the mere possibility of it, only when it really happens.

So I ask again, how do you justify your comments Joel? Attacking me does not change the fundamental wrongs that The Chosen One is perpetrating against our nation as a whole, and now our children. I understand that I am strident, but that is because I will not let anyone, not even the president, interfere with my children. I fail to understand how this makes me racist, fascist or even a bad person. I am hoping that you can enlighten me. I look forward to hearing from you.

Marine Tells It Like It Is

This Marine might very well be my new personal hero. Everyone should listen to what this Veteran had to say at a town hall meeting. I highly recommend this video. It is funny, poignant and He really tells off Representative Brian Baird. By the way Congressman.....Don't touch my health care and stay away from my kids as well.

Tip O' the Hat to Lars Larson for bringing this to our attention.

GOD BLESS AMERICA AND DEATH TO HER ENEMIES!

Do It For Teddy

The Left is oozing so much over their fallen saint that it is almost sickening. All that I saw in the news all day, and on the TV as I passed the break room was updates on where Kennedy' corpse was. I am almost surprised that Pelosi did not stick a GPS is his box so all the leftists could get real-time position updates on their iPhones. Also I want to know what that obese booze-hound did to deserve a burial in Arlington National Cemetery? That is where this country buries the honored dead. Unless abandoning helpless young women to their deaths is now deemed honorable and I just didn't get the memo, he should have been planted elsewhere.

Pelosi thinks that Kennedy's death will reinvigorate health care. That we should do this in his name. I would say that I predicted this, but honestly, who did not see this coming? I have news for her however, It is going to take more than defibrillators to bring back either of them. The Chosen One, Pelosi and Dingy Harry have lied to us from the beginning about this obamanation of a bill. From death panels that were not really there, yet removed when Palin called them on it, to being able to choose to keep your plan, how gracious of them, or to go to a "public option" that you can not get off once they have sucked you on to it. They have lied to try to get us to pay cash for this clunker using a postal service that is eleven million dollars in debt as a role model for government success.

The neo-libs have finally gotten what they asked for, a public that is participating in the process and oh how they a regretting that now. Odd how they insult the populace when they get what they have been asking for for decades. They are liars and hypocrites one and all.

The goal now is to keep up the anger and awareness so that they can not slip this past us. We can not give in to some misguided sense of guilt just because a man who would have been allowed to die with nothing more than a pain pill had he not been a Senator and the Left's patron saint kicked off. The dieing wish of a dead man, nor all the bleeding hearts of the world will make this sow's ear into a silk purse. That they think we are gullible enough to buy this line, that they are even invoking a dead man, be he ever so great, shows their arrogance, ignorance and consummate lack of class or taste.

Due to this lack of class, it should come as no surprise then that Kennedy, prior to his death, attempted to change the law he helped pass, to maintain the Left's stranglehold on the democratic process, nor that the other leftists are continuing on with the effort. Kennedy supported a bill that would make sure that a Republican governor could not replace Lurch with another republican if he had been elected president. Now this is biting them in the ass, and they do not like it. Typical, as soon as they change the rules to make it easier for the politically disabled, the winds of change blow through and they want to change the rules again. They made their bed, now let them sleep in it.

We will continue to oppose this bill because we can see it for what it is, a way for the left to gain control over one of the fundamental choices in our lives, and if you think they will ever let go, you are living in a dream world. Keep your grubby paws off my health care, stop trying to guilt me and stop thinking I and my brothers and sisters are fools. We see you for who you are, and not only do we despise you, we will not let you drag us and our great nation into the slime pit of National Socialism. I will pay for my own health needs before I succumb to ChappaquidiCare.

Seantor Kennedy Dies at age 77

I was getting ready to write a scathing post of the Democrats and their socialist agenda, when I came across the news that Ted Kennedy has died. I am not sure what to write on this. I considered this man my sworn enemy, so I should be dancing in the street. I find myself surprised that I am not that hateful. The best I can say about the man's passing is, I will pray for your passing, and for your family. I have a feeling that as a Catholic who supported abortion, he will need all the prayers he can get. Out of respect for the dead and the grieving family, I will refrain from suggesting that our nation is better off without this person muddying up the gene pool. Many, even on the right, are asking that we put aside partisan politics. BULLSHIT!

I KNOW the drive-by media and the neo-lib lawmakers will be sickeningly sweet about the man in the next few days, no matter how little he deserves it. There will be no mention of Chappaquiddick or Mary Jo Kopechne. The Chosen One, or his gang of idiots, will gloss over that and try to guilt us into passing his lousy CommieCare plan in Kennedy's name. It will be tactless and tasteless, a hallmark of this administration, and blatant use of a dead man's memory for political gain. I will not be complicit with this. This bill is on the ropes, and I for one intend to press the attack until it is as dead as Kennedy, and screw the murdering bastard!

Chuck Norris on CommieCare

This is for my good friend BlueWolfess. She is a HUGE fan of Chuck, so I decided to find out if he had any public thought on The Chosen One's CommieCare. This post is just for you Blue, enjoy.

Chuck Norris weighs in on Obamacare: Martial-arts star no fan of proposed health-care reforms

Now the health-care debate is getting really rough. Chuck Norris is in the room. The martial-arts expert, star of TV's "Walker, Texas Ranger" and clearly a conservative in the political ring, has a few thoughts about so-called "Obamacare" -- the health reforms that President Barack Obama is promoting. "I decided to research the reasons so many are opposed to Obamacare to separate the facts from the fantasy," Norris wrote in an online essay at Townhall.com. "What I discovered is that there are indeed dirty little secrets buried deep within the 1,000-plus page health care bill." "Dirty secret No. 1 in Obamacare," Norris notes: "Home visitation programs for families with young children and families expecting children" ... providing parents with "knowledge of age-appropriate child development in cognitive, language, social, emotional, and motor domains ... modeling, consulting, and coaching on parenting practices." "Are you kidding me?" Norris asks. No kidding, respond those who lash back at Norris' karate chop on Obamacare. The home support proposed in the House bill is voluntary, they say. The black-belt master, a supporter of former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, a Republican, in the last presidential campaign, may have won a middleweight karate championship in 1968 and starred alongside Bruce Lee in "Way of the Dragon." But his credentials in the health-care debate of 2009 are another matter. Even if his tears really could cure cancer.
